7 DAYS - 6 NIGHTS -
Trip schedule
-
- 1st
Day.
-
Dinner and overnight stay in
Sanremo.
-
- 2nd
Day. San Romolo natural park.
-
For
the first day on your beloved mountain bike we have prepared a quite
challenging route including the most beautiful single-tracks in San
Romolo-Mount Bignone natural park (1300 m), where you can cycle
admiring a truly breathtaking panorama.
- Start in
Sanremo direction San Romolo, upward slope leading to Mount Carparo
to then pass the hilltops in Mount Nero direction and continue along
the coastal strip from Ospedaletti to Sanremo.
- Medium-high
difficulty track, approx. 40 km, maximum height above sea level 1259
m.
-
Return
to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
-
- 3rd
Day.
- Highly
scenic itinerary overlooking the town of Sanremo.
- It
includes one of the most challenging upward slopes in the area, the
legendary “Croce della Parà-Bignone” firebreak track, followed
by a pretty technical single-track. Shortcuts and cement country
roads will lead you to the firebreak track that reaches Mount
Bignone (1300 m).
- The
descent is fully single-track, with parts featuring stone slabs and
rocks: a real emotion for technical riding fans. The two paths are
followed by mule tracks leading to a tarmac road in the Baragallo
area. The itinerary finishes back at the hotel.
- High
technical difficulty track, medium resistance, maximum height above
sea level 650 m.
-
Return
to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
-
- 4th Day. Break.
-
We
suggest a tour of the celebrated Principality of Monaco for this “on
foot” day.
-
Before going downtown, we recommend
a visit of Montecarlo’s
exotic gardens,
which feature over 6,000 plant and cactus varieties from all over
the world and are set in extremely panoramic position with superb
views of the coast.
-
Once you get near the port, you can
enter the Rocca
(the old town),
where you can visit the famous Oceanographic Museum and watch the
traditional guard change ceremony in front of the Prince’s Palace,
which is open to the public May to October. You can then try one of
the lovely tiny restaurants for lunch and browse the plenty
artisan’s workshops and small stores.
- In the afternoon do not miss
elegant Place du Casino and try your luck on the gambling tables and
with the slot machines.
- Return
to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
-
- 5th
Day. Ospedaletti’s heights.
-
Back
on the bike and ready to go! Start in the centre of Sanremo heading
to the tiny village of San Romolo riding along tarmac roads and mule
tracks. A superb upward single track starts from there, crossing the
woods it leads to Mount Carparo, maximum height 905 m, situated
behind the towns of Sanremo and Ospedaletti.
- Once
on the peak it is all downhill, all technical single track down to
the foot of the mountains sheltering Ospedaletti. Stairways and
typical Ligurian mule tracks lead down to the Aurelia main road to
then continue all the way to Sanremo.
- Medium
technical difficulty, maximum height above sea level 900 m, approx.
35 km.
-
Return
to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
-
- 6th
Day.
- Highly interesting
and panoramic itinerary including part of the old Bignone-San Romolo
DH trail and two very pleasant and technical paths “Scogli
Rossi-Borello” and “Corbezzoli”.
- A rather challenging
itinerary due to the upward slope reaching Mount Bignone aerials,
approx. 1300 m, from which the highly technical DH trail starts; a
real delight for those who love hard single tracks
- Return to hotel, dinner and
overnight stay.
- High difficulty track.
- Maximum height above sea level 1221
m, approx. 33 km.
