The coast and the hinterland contain many small stone villages along the salt road and the pilgrimage route, the lives of which have been ordered by the seasons and by their olive trees for more than 1000 years.

Then, the sun sets on the far horizon you will find yourself in a land with ancient origins. The Langhe and the Roero will transport you far back into history; the Roman colonization of the area was a bitter, hard fought affair. The colonization began in the 2nd century B.C. and involved the suppression of the Gallo-Celtic tribes who inhabited the area. Today it is great wines which dominate the elegant dining tables of the area, Barbera and Barbaresco. In fact Barbaresco has such a long and noble history that Tito Livio mentioned it in his epic history of Ancient Rome.

Leaving behind the beautiful sights and flavours of the Langhe and Roero you can travel on to the French Riviera. Here, you have a history which can be traced back through the mists of time contrasted with the much more recent rapid expansion of the area. Your journey will carry you through unspoilt areas to the varied landscapes of the famouse Cote d'Azur which will unfold before you before your arrival at your destination indicated on the itinerary.
