The Gastronomic treasures of the Riviera

A land of genuine traditions, the Western Riviera opens its doors to accompany you through the discovery of the most authentic Mediterranean diet.

1st day

Arrival in the afternoon with check in at the chosen hotel. Dinner at the hotel restaurant and free evening to try your luck at the Sanremo Municipal Casino game rooms. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

2nd day – Imperia

Morning transfer to Imperia to visit the Isnardi Company, that since 1908 has been bottling its extra – virgin olive oil directly from the mill. Inside you will have the possibility to see an ancient blood and water olive oil mill, together with an ancient pharmacy with a rare collection of olive oil containers. Afterwards there will be a sampling of Ligurian specialties. In the afternoon, visit at the Raineri Company establishment, founded in 1910, where you will assist to the phases of the “cold pressed” extra – virgin olive oil production. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

3rd day – Nervia Valley

Morning transfer to Dolceacqua, the pearl of the Nervia Valley: a pleasant medieval village, made precious by an ancient bridge and the ruins of the Doria castle. Here among artisan shops you can discover the true nectar of the Riviera: the Rossese of Dolceacqua, a precious red wine with an intense flavor. At lunch time, visit at the cellar of the Gajaudo family, where you can taste the entire variety of wines from the Riviera, accompanied by delicious specialties of the valley. In the afternoon visit at the ancient medieval village of Apricale, which has set its roots along with its narrow streets up on the mountains, where you will taste the most ancient Ligurian snack: the egg – nog with the “pansarole”, small sweets covered with powdered sugar. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

4rd day

Morning transfer to Porto Maurizio, characterized by its old historical district that is placed on the hill denominated Parasio. With the Piazza del Duomo, on which appear the Palazzo del Collegio (Palace of the College) and the Palazzo della Questura (Palace of the police headquarters). Not to miss the Logge di Santa Chiara (The gallery of Saint Chiara) with the surrounding convent founded in 1365 and still today inhabited by the Clarisse Cloistered Nuns. Departure after the end of the excursion.
