2. The great botanist's Riviera





A day-trip to the discovery of the intense landscape of the Riviera hinterland together with the exotic wonders of the largest botanical garden in Europe.

During the morning visit to Dolceacqua in Valle Nervia from where you will start for a tour of the places once owned by the famous Doria family who were the doges of the proud maritime republic of Genoa. The tour will take you from Dolceacqua to Isolabona, Apricale and Perinaldo to the discovery of a strong and flourishing nature in the land of olive trees, vineyards, and lovely medieval villages where ancient traditions are still retained.

In the afternoon visit to the Hanbury Gardens in La Mortola. It is a truly 18-hectare exotic paradise which was created by Sir Thomas Hanbury in 1867. Here you can find plants coming from every part of the world which were taken to Sanremo by Sir Hanbury thanks to his countless journeys. This garden celebrates its greatness in its paths, bowers, greenhouses, terraces, and wells all year round.
