2nd Day – San Romolo Nature Park
For the first day on the saddle of your beloved mountain bike , we have planned a fairly challenging route, with the beautiful single-tracks of the San Romolo Nature Park – Monte Bignone (1300 m), where the ride offers truly breathtaking views. Departure from San Remo heading for San Romolo, where you’ll climb Monte Carparo, and then after passing through the hills on the Monte Nero slope you’ll follow the coast from Ospedaletti back to San Remo.
This route is of medium-high difficulty, approximately 40 km. long, and reaches a maximum height of 1259 m above sea level.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd Day.
A highly scenic route near the city of San Remo.
This itinerary has one of the most challenging climbs in the area, the mythical « Croce della Parà-Bignone » fire break, followed by a very technical single-track. It rises first through shortcuts and paved roads, to reach the fire break track that leads to Monte Bignone (1300 m).
A single-track descent follows immediately through steps of stone slabs and rocks: for lovers of technical trails, this will be a real thrill. After completing the two paths, mule tracks lead to an asphalt road in the Baragalla area, and then you continue on with the return to the hotel.
Path of high technical difficulty, medium endurance, maximum height 650 meters above sea level.
Return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
4th Day. Rest.
Day of rest off your bike, so we suggest visiting the famous Principality of Monaco. Before entering the city, we recommend a visit to the exotic gardens of Monte Carlo, rich in over 6,000 varieties of plants and cacti from around the world, which offers an unparalleled view of the coast.
Once near the port, you will be able to reach the fortress and the Old Town, where you can see the famous Oceanographic Museum and watch the traditional changing of the guard in front of the Palazzo del Principe, a ceremony that takes place from May to October. You can stroll around artisan workshops and little shops, and also dine in delightful bistros. In the afternoon, you won’t want to miss a stop at the elegant Place du Casino, with the possibility of chancing your luck at the gaming tables and slot machines.
Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
5th Day. The heights of Ospedaletti.
Back to the saddle, and ready for departure from the center of San Remo heading for the hamlet of San Romolo via paved roads and mule tracks. From here a beautiful single-track unfolds in the woods, all uphill until you reach the maximum height of 905 m of Monte Carparo, located near San Remo and Ospedaletti.
Once at the top, be ready for the descent, which leads to the slopes surrounding the town of Ospedaletti, all on a technical single-track. You ride downhill through typical Ligurian steps and mule tracks, until you reach the Aurelia Way, then continue towards San Remo.
