An extraordinary day-trip to the “hunt” of the great cetaceans that live in the Mediterranean Sea and that in summer swim along the Riviera – once called by the Romans “the coast of whales”.

In the morning you will reach Imperia harbour where the ship  Corsara will be waiting for you. On board the ship, a sea biologist will be your guide on an exciting 6-hour trip to see whales, sperm whales and dolphins. The Sanctuary of Whales, which covers an area between Liguria, the Isle of Elba and Corsica, was founded in 1993 with an agreement between Italy, France and the Principality of Monaco to testify to the international importance of this phenomenon. Its aim is to protect the cetaceans – more than 2,000 – belonging to eight different species that live in the Ligurian Sea during summertime.
